Have you have ever looked ON a window and not just THROUGH one? Using it as a mirror for checking hair and make-up doesn‘t count. If you look closer you‘ll see that two images are combining. One is the real world and one is the reflection, a ‚fake‘ image. The glas surface makes it possible to see what is behind and in front of a window (or whatever the glas surface is). The background blends with the reflection.
But maybe you‘ve noticed that you can only see either one. Our eyes can only focus on one object. The rest: blurred. Here comes the cool thing, photography is able to make us see both at the same time! But now, what is real, what is fake?
